Fall is closer than you think…and what better time to clean out your closet than when the seasons change? We know from experience that cleaning out your own closet can be an intimidating task (but we’ll do it for you if you’d like!) so we went to master of closets, Corri McFadden, to get her easy tips for keeping a well organized closet.

1. Slimline hangers are a must. It’s much easier to keep track of what you have and stay organized when all of your hangers are the same. These are especially great because they maximize your space, plus the material keeps clothes on the hanger and off the floor!
2. Make sure everything is visible. Many people make the mistake of keeping things in garment bags and shoe boxes which makes it easy to forget what you have. If you like to store things in garment bags, buy clear ones (same goes for shoe boxes). Try to keep everything in your closet in one row (or elevated rows). Much easy to keep track…plus it looks nicer.
3. Start an EDO pile. Like we said, it can be an intimidating task to clean out your closet. So instead of going through your entire wardrobe at once, start an EDO pile where you put items aside as you go. Maybe you tried on a dress that doesn’t fit anymore or you can’t seem to find anything that goes with that handbag you bought last season. As you find these things, put them aside in a bag…and once it’s full take it to eDrop-Off (or schedule a FREE pickup).
