EDO Edit: Cesar Gaviria

Today’s EDO Edit comes to us from a fashion industry insider and great friend of eDrop-Off. You might recognize Cesar Gaviria as Sonja Morgan’s stylist, but there’s so much more to know about him! Learn about his many talents and see his super chic eDrop-Off auction picks. Enjoy!

Starting at a young age, Cesar Gaviria would watch his mother get ready for work. She always looked her best in perfectly tailored clothes, and just the right amount of accessories. She was and is his inspiration.

Cesar started his career working for Saks Fifth Avenue. It was there that his curiosity to learn more about fashion and his favorite designers began to grow. He developed rapidly in the fashion retail industry and began to delve into styling and personal shopping. Major brands have turned to Cesar for his experience, skills and professionalism. He recently worked with designer Farah Angsana, styling her Spring/Summer 2012 presentation as well as her Fall/Winter 2012 runway show at Lincoln Center for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Sonja Morgan of the Real Housewives of New York relies on Cesar when she has an appearance, gala or important television taping. Cesar styles private clients and provides them with personal shopping services, assuring that they have the tools to look their best each day.

EDO: You organized a Flash Mob-style presentation for Moncler Grenoble. We need more details! What was that like?
CG: During Moncler’s FW11 presentation at Grand Central Station, I worked with Robert Rabensteiner, the label’s head stylist.  I assisted him with styling each look for Style.com.  The flash mob consisted of 160 models and it was done inside Grand Central Station during regular hours.  Editors and bystanders were extremely surprised, as it was New York Fashion Week’s best kept secret! They got to see the main hall of Grand Central Station invaded by 160 models and dancers!

EDO: Can you share any interesting stories from your experiences with the Real Housewives franchise?
CG: Well, every experience you have with any of the Real Housewives is an interesting one!  You can never know what to expect. ANYTHING and EVERYTHING will happen! For example, when Sonja had a visit from mother nature and I ended up in a women’s bathroom thanking God I am not a girl and wishing that what was going on had never happened….especially after it was shown on national television and was selected as clip of the week on The Soup.

EDO: What’s the best part about your job?
CG: The best and most rewarding part of my job is when I see the final product of my work.  It’s a wonderful feeling when you read on blogs and in magazines that your client looked great during a show, or when you see the final images of a photo shoot and the pictures are breathtaking. I also LOVE when I visit showrooms to look at designers’ collections.  It makes me feel like a kid in a candy store!

EDO: Favorite place you’ve traveled?
CG: I have been to many places, but I think the best place I have ever been to is New York City. That’s why I moved here!

EDO: Favorite restaurant in New York?
CG: New York has many good restaurants and I have a favorite restaurant for every type of food.  However, I LOVE Standard Grill at the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District.  It always has great people, amazing food and the staff is very nice and friendly!

EDO: What’s next for you?
CG: I always like to take things one day at a time and do the best I can on everything I get involved with.  However, I am working on a new website for men’s fashion and lifestyle, so keep an eye out for it!  It is my new baby and will be launching soon!  I’ll make sure to let everyone know through my social media outlets. (We’ll be anxiously waiting!)
