EDO:
Favorite place you’ve traveled?
DY: I will always remember my trip to Barcelona and just how warm not only the climate is but the culture is. I swear whenever I was lost a local would take my hand and point me in the right direction, ensuring that I’d make it there safely. That, and the fact that a culinary staple is taking a real-live octopus and steaming it right in front of you to eat. It was both horrifying and delicious.

EDO: Who is your style icon?
DY: David Bowie will always be someone I look up to for his ability to mix and match masculinity and femininity together so effortlessly. The man is just so suave but fierce at the same time. I don’t know anyone else today who can be described as being both.

EDO: What are your go-to pieces for Fall/Winter?
DY: For fall I am loving my navy trench with leather sleeves from Marc Jacobs. I am a firm believer that mixing mediums is the perfect way to immediately up the chic factor. I am also obsessed with my Acne motorcycle jacket. You can dress it up, or dress it down, but either way you’ll look like a badass. Finally, I’m loving anything that sparkles and shines–especially for New Years’–because, of course, I have to be the center of attention. For this reason I have to go with my Elie Tahari gold sequined jacket that only comes out twice a year. Winter is a perfect time to bling out those cold, dreary New York afternoons.

EDO: Who was the most exciting person you’ve ever interviewed?
DY: I’ve been blessed to have sat down with my favorite people in the world from Oscar de la Renta, to Jessica Alba, to Kanye West. But I’ll always remember the time I had with Robert DeNiro. He’s notorious for hating interviews and scoffing at reporters. So I was just a little–or a lot–petrified of him. But knowing to ask the right questions at the right times always helps your cause. In his case, I asked both him and his wife a question together–this totally opened him up after he saw that his wife was into it.

EDO: Where would we find you on most weekends?
DY: Most weekends you’ll find me eating at a new restaurant in Brooklyn. I am obsessed with Williamsburg! The area has everything you could ever want or dream about. I always miss it when I’m out of state or country.
