EDO: What’s the one beauty product you can’t live without?
MM: Tinted moisturizer! I usually have 4 or 5 in rotation but generally go back to Laura Mercier. My current favorite is by NARS. It’s so good and just may beat out Laura Mercier for 1st place.

EDO: Describe your closet in 3 words.
MM: Not big enough (does that count?) Classic. Preppy. Stripes.

EDO: If you could have lunch with any designer, who would it be?
MM: Alber Elbaz. Besides being an insanely talented designer, he is sweet and lovable and has a great sense of humor.

EDO: What would you have as your last meal?
MM: Sushi.

EDO: What made you decide to write City Of Style?
MM: I’ve had a front row seat to style and fashion in LA and met some amazingly chic women over the years. It dawned on me one day to capture everything I was seeing in one place and explore how various subcultures here have inspired looks that have gone on to affect the way the entire world dresses.
