Azeeza Desai Khan has become our new favorite local designer. Her line AZZA has the perfect combination of unique colors, intricate embellishments and high quality fabrics. You won’t see these designs, or anything remotely similar, anywhere else. It’s quite impressive what she’s done in just under a year of designing. Azeeza is her brand and you’ll only see her in AZZA garments. Whether it’s a party dress or even a simple tank, she likes to test new cuts and fabrics so she can breathe her design aesthetic…literally.

AZZA launched less than a year ago at New York Fashion Week. Since then Azeeza has grown her design aesthetic and discovered her love for billowing frocks, structured blazers and exaggerated scarves. Her designs are heavily influenced by her South Asian heritage, using pure silk and chiffon textiles indigenous to India, and of course bold embroideries. From Azeeza herself, “AZZA at the end of the day is all about instilling confidence in women, as you will definitely stand out from the crowd. You’ll feel your best inside and out, given that with every piece, a garment is donated to a impoverished South Asian female in need.”
It’s clear that Azeeza has great taste…so let’s take a look at what she’s coveting from the eDrop-Off closet.

Get to know the designer behind the brand by checking out our interview with Azeeza herself…
EDO: Describe your closet in 3 words.
ADK: Timeless, statements & basics.
EDO: Favorite place to travel.
ADK: India. I still get culture shock every time! Watch Oprah’s Next Chapter 4-part series on India to understand why its so surreal.
EDO: Designer who inspired you most.
ADK: Versace and his highly publicized tragic death pushed me at the age of 14 to learn more about both his life achievements and talent. His brand continues to evolve his art, while sustaining his design integrity over a decade after his death. My husband arranged a private tour of his South Beach mansion and the energy to be in his design space was just spine chilling. Not to mention interior eye candy at every turn…
EDO: Top dining destination in Chicago
ADK: The French Market’s Klay Oven Kitchen for avant-garde, experimental Indian cuisine within the ambience of a true Parisian market. Executive Chef, Hiran, fuses South Asian accents into modern cuisine the same way I bring them into garments.
EDO: Beauty product you can’t live without.
ADK: Pure Argan oil. I use it for everything. It even instantly healed harsh sunburn from my Mexican escape last week!
